About me, an opening journal

I believe that I’m capable of the dreams that I have for myself. Twenty-nine years alive and a decade of creative exploration later, saying that is like taking a true, deep breath for the first time. That feels so silly to say. Especially with how often and how loudly I tell others to believe in themselves. But it's harder when it's you, you know?

I attribute this to surrounding myself with incredible creative humans who are doing the damn thing and telling me that I can do it, too. And also with a lot of self-reflection and determination to show up for me, my vision, and my life. We only get one!

So hi, I’m Aynsley and I’m starting a journal. As a way to document my creative process and show up in the world in a way that feels the most authentic to me. I am an artist and a designer, a relaxed adventurer, a dog mum, Scottish AF, and determined to find beauty in most days. Some days aren’t though, and that’s okay. This will play in tandem with my socials and, eventually, a monthly newsletter when I decide what I want that to look like. I am determined to live a creative, slow, and intentional life. To travel often and experience as much joy as I can find. Yes, I’m unpacking my need to avoid negative emotions but that’s a story for another time - don’t judge me…Actually, do, that’s fine, we all do it.

I’m not particularly special and I don’t have anything all that unique to say. WHAT?! Yep. But don’t get it twisted, I am no more special than the next person, but I do very much like myself. And I do believe that the way I choose to present things is interesting. I’ve worked hard to discover the parts of myself that I most enjoy and I am excited to share them. I think I’m pretty funny, I enjoy my creative eye, and I love to show up for my friends even when I fall short of perfect.

I am my most content when by the water or amongst the trees and if I had it my way, we would all be outside as often as we pleased. My two truths and a lie are that I once raced motocross, I love cruises, and I have a soft spot for anything and everything handmade.

That’s all I have for you today, friend. I hope you’ll check back in! Before you go, what’s one thing that you very much enjoy about yourself? I’d love to know, but if you don’t want to share that’s okay too. Keep it to yourself and think of it when you are feeling down, okay? Okay.

Until next time,

Aynsley Anne
